Naan Bread
As you guys know, I've been getting really into making bread from scratch and I'm never going to buy store-bought naan bread again. This light and fluffy naan bread is perfect to pair with your favorite Indian dish or just to snack on by itself. I topped mine with garlic herb butter, which really pushed it over the top. This bread was super quick (in relation to other breads) and easy to make. Just beware, once you make them you'll have a difficult time stopping yourself from eating them all! I know I listed the garlic butter as optional, but you should really just go for it. Garlic and butter make everything better, so although it's "optional," you don't really have the option.

Servings: 6
Total Time: 45-55 minutes
Ingredients:
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp instant yeast
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 cups warm water
3 tbs canola oil
Optional:
2 tbs butter
1 clove garlic, minced
Instructions:
- Combine flour, yeast, water, oil, and salt, in a large mixing bowl, stirring until fully incorporated.
- Pour the dough out onto a floured cutting board and knead for 15 minutes.
- Place in a bowl and cover with a clean towel for 20 minutes to allow to rise.
- Once the dough has risen, divide into 6 even balls.
- Place each ball on a floured board and use a rolling pin to form naan breads into an oval shape
- Place a heavy skillet or griddle on high heat for 3-4 minutes.
- Place dough on the griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to puff up and char lightly.
- Flip the bread and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
- If you want to top your naan with garlic butter, melt the butter in a small bowl and add minced garlic. Gently brush the garlic butter across each piece of naan.
Once your dough is mixed and has risen, get your cutting board floured and ready to roll out.
Don't worry about getting a perfect shape for your naan. Just try to get an oval shape by rolling forward to back a few times before rolling side-to-side.
I used a griddle pan so I could cook 2 naans at a time, but you could also use a non-stick or cast iron pan.
Make sure you get some good color on both sides.
The final product. Doesn't that look so tasty??
